 LENDING A HAND

Supporting Community Sport in High Lane ...

HLCC is a community based sports and social club serving needs of High Lane.

Our mission is to provide the broadest range of sporting opportunity for the many and not the few.  To achieve this, we rely on a small team of volunteers to get the games on and run the club day to day.

Last year, we invested heavily in building new changing rooms and training facilities.  As the club grows and moves forwards in 2023, we need even more help to spread the load for our existing committed and friendly team.

So why not help us to make a difference to the community and contact us to have a chat as to how you may help your community club.....

Yes ... I would love to lend a hand!

How can I lend a hand?

There are a range of opportunities to 'Lend a hand' which can match what everyones preferences, time to spare and skills you may already have.

Join our 'HLCC Ground Force crew' and enjoy the challenge of maintaining one of the top grounds in the league.  Our overworked groundsmen are keen to bring in fresh blood for the never ending challenge of mowing, rolling and preparing the wickets for each match.  This really suits anyone who loves being outdoors and has the flexibility to give time during the week potentially to share the load.

HLCC Webmaster : If you have some technical and creative skills and fancy having a go at website design then we have the role for you.  Based upon our 'Shopblocks' platform, we have the ideal opportunity for a 12 month apprenticeship in website management.  You will receive full training and support and build great experience in running an Ecommerce platform.  So whether its gaining work experience or having a new hobby for 2023, why not give it a go.

Improving our facilities :  Having completed the pavilion, we now have a tough challenge to get our changing rooms ready for start of the new season in April 2022.  Anyone with basic decorating skills or DIY would be really useful to help get us across the line and make sure we deliver an environment which the whole community and our members can enjoy.  We work in a safe COVID friendly environment and even a few hours painting will really help us!

Hospitality & Events :  Sport and social events are now on most days at our Middlewood ground.  Our new bar and kitchen service areas and outdoor patio are proving a real hit and we would like to open up for the broader community during the week.  If you fancy a stint helping out serve behind the bar or at one of our summer events please let us know.
